Rita DiLazzara of Bethesda celebrates her 103rd Birthday!

Rita DiLazzara receives certificate from County Executive Isiah Leggett

Rita DiLazzara of Bethesda celebrated her 103rd bithday on
Wednesday, January 23, with a special visit and award from Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett.

Rita, called "Nonna" by close friends and relatives, is one of the oldest residents in our county, according to
Chair of Montgomery County's Commission on Aging Judith Welles, who attended the celebration.
Gabriel Albornoz, Director of Montgomery County Department of Recreation, also celebrated with Rita,
as well as her daughter Alvina Long, the Clara Barton Center Director Modestine Snead, her great staff,
several Friends of Clara Barton Community Center Board members, and a host of Rita's friends.

An excellent video presentation of Rita's life, made for Rita's 100th birthday, was presented by Leanne Long,
President of JKLMedia, which you can view on her website here:
JKLMedia/Biographies.
Leanne did an outstanding job on the video and, if you're interested in having a video done yourself,
you can
contact her directly or visit her web site at www.jklmedia.net.

Katie Griffith wrote a wonderful piece for the Potomac Patch on Rita's Birthday celebration.
